SYDNEY TOWER

After exploring Sydney, we finally arrive at Sydney Tower, which is one of the most famous places in the city. It is 309 metres high, making it the tallest building in Sydney. It is a very popular attraction for both tourists and locals. Along with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, it is one of the most recognized landmarks of the city.

The tower has fast lifts that take visitors all the way to the observation deck, where they can see a beautiful panoramic view of Sydney and the surrounding areas. For those who like adventure, there is also the Skywalk, a platform with a glass floor that lets you see directly below your feet, which can be very exciting or even scary for some people!

Another great thing about Sydney Tower is that there are restaurants and cafés where visitors can enjoy a meal while looking at the city from above. Some people just go there to eat because the view makes it a special experience. There is also a 4D cinema, which is different from a normal cinema because it adds extra effects like wind and sound to make the experience more real.

Personally, the thing I like the most about Sydney Tower is the Skywalk. Walking on a glass-floor platform so high above the city must be an incredible experience! It gives you a completely different perspective of Sydney, and the feeling of standing above the skyline is both exciting and a little bit scary. It’s not something you can do every day, so it seems like a unique adventure.

THE ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney offers several ways for individuals to engage with and support its mission. One such opportunity is the dedication of a bench within the gardens. The cost for dedicating a bench ranges from $12,500 to $19,500, depending on the selected location. This dedication is valid for a period of ten years and includes a commemorative plaque. Additionally, all bench dedications are tax-deductible.

For those interested in a more immersive relationship with the gardens, becoming a member of the Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens is an excellent option. Members receive a range of benefits, including priority viewing of horticultural displays at The Calyx, access to tickets for seasonal events and the New Years Eve Picnic at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, and a 20% discount on plant sales featuring specimens propagated from the Botanic Gardens Living Collection.

One notable perk is the subscription to The Gardens magazine, which provides seasonal news and updates from the gardens. The magazine is published quarterly, ensuring members stay informed throughout the year. Among the diverse flora showcased at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia nobilis) stands out as a particularly remarkable species. Often referred to as a living fossil ancient tree was believed to be extinct until its discovery in 1994. The Wollemi Pine is significant not only for its rarity but also for its unique appearance, featuring unusual bark and fern-like foliage.

Its presence in the garden offers visitors a tangible connection to prehistoric plant life and underscores the importance of conservation efforts. For more detailed information on bench dedications, membership benefits, or to explore the diverse plant collections, please visit the official website of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

The plant i got in love with was the Wollemian Nobilis

The Wollemi pine (Wollemia nobilis) is one of my favorite plants at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney.

It is an extremely rare conifer, considered a living fossil because it was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1994 in a remote forest in Australia.

It has a unique appearance, with leaves reminiscent of ferns and bark with a texture that evokes bubbles.

Additionally, it is a hardy species that has sparked great interest in the field of botanical conservation.

THE ROCKS

The Rocks, located on Sydneys western coast, is a historic neighborhood full of charm. Its name comes from the rocky formations in the area, and it is now home to more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including treasures like Canadas Cottage, Sydneys oldest surviving house built in 1816. Visitors can enjoy the Rocks Discovery Museum, stroll through the narrow streets filled with souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes, and Aboriginal and contemporary art galleries. Additionally, there are guided tours, photographic excursions, and exciting nighttime ghost tours. The Rocks Markets are only open on weekends, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays. During these days, the streets come alive with stalls offering a wide variety of local products, from art and design to food and wellness items. To reach The Rocks by public transportation, it is best to get off at Circular Quay station. This station is just a two-minute walk from The Rocks and connects trains, buses, ferries, and tram services, making access quick and convenient. One standout shop is UPTOWN Barbers, known as Sydneys go-to place for quality haircuts and grooming services for modern gentlemen. Its focus on excellence and style makes it an interesting stop for anyone seeking a unique experience.

DARLING HARBOUR

Darling Harbour in Sydney is a vibrant destination full of activities for all interests, from shopping and dining to museums and entertainment venues. Families will enjoy Madame Tussauds, where they can see some figures of celebrities, the wild life Sydney Zoo, which offers a close-up experience with Australia's native animals, and the sea life Sydney Aquarium, where it is the world’s largest collection of Australian marine creatures. Additionally, the Powerhouse Museum offers interactive exhibits on science, technology, design, and history, while at the Australian National Maritime Museum, visitors can board a replica of Captain Cook’s ship, the Endeavour. Younger children will love the carousel, playground, and water park, along with exciting options like the IMAX and 9D theater, harbor jet boat rides, simulated flights, and racing car adventures. The most exciting activity is definitely the fireworks over the harbor, which provide a stunning visual spectacle. My personal favorite is the sea life Sydney Aquarium, as I love the idea of exploring Australian marine life and learning more about its diverse species in such an immersive environment.

HYDE PARK

Hyde Park in Sydney is a beautiful place with large green spaces, trees, pathways, fountains, and monuments such as the Archibald Fountain and the Anzac War Memorial. The people visiting the park seem to be walking, relaxing, having picnics, or simply enjoying the day outdoors. I believe that people visit the park quite frequently, especially on weekends or when the weather is nice, because it’s a perfect spot for activities like walking, exercising, taking photos, or just unwinding. In my city, there are similar parks, although they are not as historic or iconic as Hyde Park. However, they also provide great spaces to relax and connect with nature. These are the places where I often go for walks with my friends to spend some peaceful and enjoyable time together. I really like going to parks because they allow me to take a break from the busy city life and enjoy the outdoors. Sometimes, I also play sports like frisbee or badminton in the park, which is a fun way to combine exercise with socializing. Hyde Park seems like an amazing place where you can experience both nature and history at the same time. I think it's a good experience and good activity which everybody must try ir at some part in their life.

 Podcast: “Music Legends”

Episode: AC/DC - The Australian Rock Band that Rocked the World

Welcome to Music Legends! Today, we’re diving into the story of one of the most iconic rock bands from Australia: AC/DC. Known for hits like Back in Black and Thunderstruck, ACDC has electrified audiences worldwide for decades. In just a few minutes, we’ll look at what makes their story so unforgettable.

AC/DC was formed in 1973 in Sydney, Australia, by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. They aimed to create a high-energy sound, with raw, powerful guitar riffs and relentless beats. Angus even adopted his now-famous schoolboy outfit for live performances, adding to their unique stage presence.

Their early success came with albums like High Voltage and T.N.T., which made them popular in Australia. But their true breakthrough happened in 1979 with Highway to Hell. Tragically, just as they were reaching global fame, lead singer Bon Scott passed away unexpectedly in 1980.

Determined to continue, AC/DC recruited Brian Johnson as their new vocalist. Together, they released Back in Black, a tribute to Scott and one of the best-selling albums of all time. This album cemented their status as rock legends.

Today, AC/DC remains a powerful influence on rock music. Songs like You Shook Me All Night Long and Thunderstruck are still anthems around the world. Thanks for tuning in to Music Legends! Be sure to subscribe for more episodes on the icons of music. See you next time!

THE ART GALLERY

In my opinion the most interestant piece in the art gallery is the Besiegers of the castle due to its historical context, artistic technique, emotional weight, contemporary relevance, and ability to engage the public in a broader conversation about meaningful themes.

By the other hand one thing that has drown my attention is the art of Tony Albert of Situating cigarettes on top of high-ranking artworks in the modern era. Here some examples of the aforementioned.

In my opinion I will highlight the diverse collection of Australian and international art. In these highkights I would include the  significant works by Indigenous artists, modern masterpieces, and renowned European painters like Monet and Picasso. With a commitment to accessibility and community engagement, the gallery offers a range of educational programs, making art accessible to everyone which is a very importaint thing of why these Art Gallery is much important.
